Preserving Our Heritage Through Song – Recording Session, Eugene, OR.

September 30, 2023 @ 10:00 am - 4:30 pm

  • « Tribal Council Business Meeting
  • Language Committee Meeting »

Attention all Tribal singers within the Confederated Tribes of Coos, Umpqua, and Siuslaw Indians!
You are invited to play a vital role in the creation of a CD featuring our traditional songs and personal melodies. Our songs serve as the threads that weave together our cultural heritage, enabling us to entwine our stories, emotions, and customs that words cannot capture. Songs are the heartbeat of our language, and without them, our prayers struggle to find their voice. This CD project
is a celebration of our cultural heritage, an opportunity to capture the essence of our tribal identity and pass it down to generations to come.

Join Us!
Saturday, September 30, 2023
Join us as we will be gathering on Saturday, September 30th in Eugene, OR at a recording studio in this collective effort.

We will meet at the Eugene Outreach Office at 10:00 am for a final practice and lunch, then caravan to the recording studio from 1:00-4:00pm. We are offering transportation from the Coos Bay
and Florence offices.
We understand that each of you carries a unique personal connection and journey to our culture and we are presented with two ways of participation:

Sing Traditional Songs:
Come together as a group to record some of our most cherished traditional songs, fostering and honoring our heritage.
Contribute a Personal Song:
Share a song that reflects your connection and experiences within CTCLUSI.

For more information on how to join us with your singing voice to this CD project, please connect with Enna Helms at (541) 297- 7538.
