Canceled: Elder’s Lunch – Honeyman Memorial State Park

August 9, 2022 @ 11:30 am - 2:00 pm
  • « Canceled: Culture Camp
  • Tribal Council Regular Meeting »

Effective Immediately:
All CTCLUSI In – Person Events and Activities are Canceled Until Further Notice.

After lengthy deliberation and review of the current CDC and local health agency data the difficult decision has been made by the Tribal Council and CTCLUSI Government to cancel the sacred Salmon Ceremony and all in-person events and activities until further notice to safeguard the health of Tribal Members and Staff The recent Nationwide increase of the spread of the COVID -19 virus and highly contagious variants has significantly impacted our local communities and created staffing shortages. Specific concerns related to the Salmon Ceremony include that while the gathering and Ceremony are held outdoors, other related activities including large groups of people gathering in a small area and the required busing of membership create exponential exposure. The Government Offices and Dental Clinic will still remain operational, by appointment only, and remain closed to public. Both Tribal and Government leadership realize the devastating impact this decision creates in our ability to gather during these challenging times and remain hopeful to soon safely gather once again.
